August Workshop

The August Workshop will be August 12th at 7:30PM at Manuel's Tavern in Atlanta.

Workshop report for July 8th, 2008

11 members were at the July 8th workshop at Manuel’s Tavern.
Mike Schinkel gave a workshop on search Engine Optimization (SEO), and shared some good tips, such as the importance of a good page title over H1 tags.
We then shared various tips such as node reference compared to node relativity.
We also went over the most used modules, and David Fugate gave an overview of the Panels module.

Workshop Report for June 10th, 2008

11 members participated in the June 10th workshop at Manuel's Tavern.
Two topics were suggested: the Views module, and the Panels module.
As everyone was interested in the Views module, we decided to have one single group on this topic.
Mike Schinkel showed us how he used Views on a web site he recently built for atvillustrated.com.
The site looks great. Mike explained how he used the powerful features in Views to organize the site in categories like makes, models, articles, and videos.
The workshop was clear, and we all learned a lot.

Drupal Tutor Needed

Hi Mal:

Mike Schinkel here. I've decided to move forward with using Drupal for my
client instead of WordPress. But I'd really like to find someone who can
tutor me in crash-course style on setting up Drupal and also writing themes
(it could be two different people.) I'm expecting it will take 3-6 hours,
possibly over two sessions and I can afford to pay $25 an hour. Would it
be possible for you send this out to your list of users? We are also
looking at the possibility of using Drupal for Atlanta-Web.org's website.
