Module Development

Hey guys (and gals)...

I'm all for helping beginners, and I think that evangelizing drupal to newbies should be a big role of our group. However, I gotta believe that there are plenty of drupal-hackers in Atlanta that would love a place to meet some fellow geeks and throw around ideas on how to improve pieces of the core and developing new features and modules and whatnot.

So, I am taking the floor to see if anyone shouts back. I realize this site and group is brand-spanking new, so this is a bit ambitious and unlikely to fruitful. But let it be known that there is at least one person willing to get the ball rolling on this. I've been involved with coding up modules for about a year and a half now, but have not contributed anything back other than a patch or two. I'd love to get a small group together -- we could take on the task of maintaining a module, or developing something new.

Any interest?

I'm interested as well. I've only been using Drupal since October 2007 but would love contribute. Some of my immediate interests/needs are Google
Maps (currently not using the module but manually inserting the code I need), and images/galleries/lightbox enhancements.

He has written many custom modules from scratch.

I'd also love to sit in on any such meeting. I'd like to learn module design.
