Next Meeting--August 21 at 5 Seasons Restaurant

The agenda for this next meeting is a continuation of a previous meeting agenda:

A hands on workshop for building Drupal -powered sites.

Location: 5 Seasons restaurant in Alpharetta, GA. Located on Old Milton Pkway about 1 mile east of hwy 400 (exit 10).

Recent meetings have focused on a hands on approach to teach Drupal to new learners, or help intermediate learners advance their Drupal knowledge. These have been smaller meeting with around 10 attendees. We'd like to grow this number and diversify our attendee base.

Thanks to Michael Martin and Bill Shaouy of IBM for their most engaging case study last month re: the Zuda Comics site.

Zuda Comics Case Study

Sorry for the delay, but attached are the Zuda Comics Power Point slides from last meeting's presentation.

Thanks to Michael Martin and Bill Shaouy of IBM Global Services.

Drupal Case Study: The DC Comics Zuda Web Site

Mike Martin and Bill Shaouy from IBM Global Services will be summarizing their experiences in creating the DC Comics Zuda web site. Zuda is a new branch of DC Comics, whose online presence enables aspiring comic authors to compete to win a publishing contract with DC Comics. The Zuda site was developed in Drupal.

IN-DEPTH DRUPAL: ARCHITECTURE AND DEBUGGING

Mike Schinkel of NewClarity and Atlanta Web Entrepreneurs will be killing two birds with one stone by demonstrating:

1.) The underlying architecture of Drupal including CCK and Views, and
2.) How to debug Drupal 5.x using PhpED from NuSphere.

November Meeting: Using Mobile Devices with Drupal

This month's meeting will focus on adapting Drupal to mobil devices--i.e. cell phones, PDAs, pocket computers.

First we will discuss the topic at an architectural level, and then depending on questions, we will drill some into the details. This discussion is based on a project that is currently under development. The project has required some key module customization, as well as multisite implementation. It seems like a meaty project, containing information of interest to each member.

Andrew Lunde will lead this discussion.
